Import totalDOOD's Frozen Sea brand of prawns are sourced from Bangladesh. Prawn is one of the most popular types of seafood and prawns from Bangladesh are considered the best tasting. A proportion of our prawns are caught directly from the Bay of Bengal by local fishing boats. The majority of prawns are cultured under high quality processing conditions. This entails catching mother prawns from low salinity waters and releasing them in the hatcheries where the high salinity of the water is optimal for the baby prawns to be bred. The processing plants, where prawns are grown to maturity, maintain the standards specified by the EU and are HACCP approved. The adult prawns are found in Cox's Bazaar, in the Bay of Bengal and include Fresh Water, Black Tiger and Harina Prawns.  |
